11CO2 positron emission imaging reveals the in-situ gas concentration profile as function of time and position in opaque gas-solid contacting systems

چکیده

The in situ analysis of industrial processes, mostly conducted opaque equipment is difficult. Whereas previously the positron emission technique was successfully applied to study flow and mixing gas–solid liquid–solid systems using radio-active tracer particles, research on imaging a radio- active gas scarce. present paper demonstrates use fully three-dimensional (3D) Positron Emission Tomography (PET) adsorption 11CO2 gas, while validating measurement by conventional exit analysis. It will be demonstrated that PET can used measure kinetics high-pressure CO2 situ, including essential breakthrough mass transfer zone characteristics. Such operation characteristic pre-combustion capturing processes. expected this work foster further studies adsorption, catalysis, hydrodynamics, processes where interaction primary importance.
